Salt Lake City, UtahDetails:The Department of Emergency Medicine at University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated physician to join our team. Ideal candidates value patient-centered, compassionate, high-quality care, and an emphasis on teamwork. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, WY, ED is a rural safety net Emergency Department that is affiliated with the University’s academic quaternary care center. The majority of faculty at this site are fellowship trained in EMS, wilderness medicine, ultrasound, and global medicine.A successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with EM and hospital leadership to enhance clinical care for all patients and support quality, safety, performance, and patient experience improvement efforts as directed by the Medical Director and hospital leadership.Requirements:Successful applicants must possess an MD or DO, have completed an emergency medicine residency, and be board eligible or have current board certification in Emergency Medicine. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across the organization. University of Utah offers competitive salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications.The newly created Department of Emergency Medicine is rapidly expanding. Currently, the Department staffs three emergency departments, with a fourth department expected to start in 2026. The Department offers fellowships in research, ultrasound, palliative care, wilderness medicine, global medicine, EMS, and Sports Medicine. Currently, the Department has 30 residents with planned growth to 36 residents by 2025. The University of Utah Emergency Department is a Level 1 trauma center, a STEMI center, and a comprehensive stroke center.University of Utah Health is the state’s only academic health care system, providing leading-edge and compassionate care for a referral area that encompasses 10 percent of the US, including Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and much of Nevada.
