Principal, Product Management, E-Commerce Strategy

The Hired Guns are seeking a strategic-minded Principal of Product Management, E-Commerce Strategy to steer customer strategy and product innovation for a top-ten e-commerce company.The Nitty GrittyThe backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!This booming e-tailer is defining and delivering new ways of shopping — think immersive experiences, new mobile technologies, and more. They’re looking for a Principal of Product Management (a director-level position) to join their team and lead strategy and execution for new projects. An example of a project you’d get to lead is defining the future of this iconic retailer’s digital product strategy for gifting. Depending on the outcome of the gifting strategy, you could either work with engineers to build portions of the strategy or hand off execution to other teams. You will help manage a redesign initiative, but will be largely focused on program management (e.g., defining phases, priorities, etc.), stakeholder alignment, and execution. You will work closely with product managers to understand their various products and propose recommendations to fit customer needs. This is a highly coveted role for the right person and a massive opportunity to get your foot in the door at one of the nation’s fastest-growing, iconic re/e-tailers.Note: If you’re not in NYC, that’s ok, but you need to be able to commute to NYC offices for meetings from time to time.Why You?How you’ll know if you’re a fit…The ideal candidate for this role has a very strong product sense coupled with proven strategic ability. Your first remit will be to reimagine the gifting strategy for millions of consumers, and the mere thought of this is super-exciting to you. You have very strong stakeholder management, indirect influence, and matrix skills, which means your communication skills are next-level. You know what to say to whom, when to get collaboration, buy-in, and results. You have grit, adaptability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
