The Central Texas Food Bank is seeking a strategic, innovative, and purpose-driven leader to serve as its Chief Impact Officer (CIO). Reporting to the President and CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Team, the CIO’s primary responsibility is to lead CTFB’s network and direct-service programs. The Chief Impact Officer will lead, facilitate, and enable transformational change within our programs and services team. The position has primary day-to-day responsibility for building, developing, and enhancing programs and services to provide resources to people experiencing food insecurity and leverage resources to sustain the organization’s efforts to end hunger. The ideal candidate is a big picture, out-of-the-box thinker who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing constituent priorities while fostering and supporting a culture of service.Responsibilities
Strategic LeadershipParticipate in the implementation of the organization's refreshed strategic plan, with a focus on all activities related to programs and services deliverables.Engage external business and industry experts to learn and influence CTFB's food distribution and programming strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward-thinking about opportunities/innovations and risks in the industry.Collaborate with leadership in developing and executing a vision and strategy for current and future program evaluation and lead efforts to ensure impact, efficiencies, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.Oversee the development and ongoing support of CTFB's Partner Network, including membership terms, benefits and process, and corresponding gatherings, communications, and functions.Serve as a thought leader able to share trends internally and externally on community development and investment strategies, promising programs, and solutions locally and beyond.Ensure new and existing programs are conducted within an environment of financial viability and regulatory compliance.Serve as the lead community partner engagement strategist to enrich programming through partnerships and develop on-going relationships with primary partners.Collaborate with the President and CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to prepare departmental budget, cost/benefit analysis of root cause programming, and forecasting future costs of innovation/social enterprise work.Oversee the Food Bank’s programs and services departments: Network Services including Children’s Programs, Senior Programs, Distribution, Compliance & Capacity, and Client Service including Health & Wellness and Empowerment Programs.Coach, manage, evaluate, and develop direct reports and department leadership to ensure a high-performing team dedicated to service and meeting deliverables in a timely and professional manner, in accordance with the organization’s strategic goals.Facilitate collaboration between internal teams to inform and drive a more systemic approach to aligning funding, resources, and capacity to serve the community holistically and effectively.Participate in organization budget planning and execution process, ensuring stewardship and efficiency principles are accounted for when meeting budgetary requirements.Responsible for the accurate collection and reporting of all program activities and deliverables including the preparation of reports, grants, government contracts, and other constituent requests.Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators to measure program success, quality of services, and outcomes for new programs.Ensure that processes, procedures, and assignments of responsibilities are designed to meet team goals in an efficient, optimal, and effective manner.Ensure all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Actively support the organization’s values, goals, and objectives by modeling the way, getting to yes, and working collaboratively to ensure “service above all else” is a daily lived value.Execute other responsibilities as assigned by President and CEO.Candidate Profile
The Chief Impact Officer will play a critical role in executing strategic organizational vision and goals through programmatic and operational leadership and innovation, helping to position Central Texas Food Bank for future growth. This individual will bring experience in strategic/tactical planning and annual budget development. They will have a minimum of 15 years community-building and nonprofit experience, with hands-on, progressive programmatic development and oversight responsibility. In addition, they will bring 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience, cultivating high-performing teams dedicated to mission impact. The CIO will be professional, tactful, honest, respectful, courteous, cooperative, and will bring a client-centric spirit that embraces diversity and inclusion. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.Passion for Mission

The Chief Impact Officer will draw upon leadership experience in innovating and scaling capacity to grow the organization’s existing program and service areas while simultaneously identifying new areas of impact. This leader will be adept at developing shared and measurable goals and creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging programs and strategies that lead to positive impact. The CIO will bring a balance of creativity and critical thinking skills, drawing upon multiple perspectives, staying abreast of industry trends, and introducing new ways of thinking and problem solving. This leader will be adaptable and flexible to change and will be committed to innovation and process improvement. They will be willing to take calculated risks. As a leader, the CIO will look to build organizational capability to enable growth by identifying skills needed in the department, and provide the necessary tools, resources, and support to staff to execute strategic priorities.Exceptional Relationship Building and Partnership Skills
The Chief Impact Officer will be effective in building and sustaining strong relationships with a demonstrated ability to manage high stakes relationships with a diverse group of staff, donors, volunteers, and partners. They will manage projects and workload of self and others effectively and engage constructively with the other members of the CTFB team. Internally, they will facilitate effective cross-functional teamwork across departments. The CIO will consistently look to identify new partnership opportunities that enable CTFB to deepen its impact.Excellent Communication and External Relations Skills
The Chief Impact Officer be an effective ambassador on the organization’s mission and programmatic and service goals to external constituents and will continue to position CTFB as a thought leader in the food justice and food sustainability space. They will bring excellent active listening and written and verbal communication skills. Internally, they will clearly communicate the vision and direction of the department so that all team members have clarity on goals, responsibilities, and reporting relationships. The CIO will be skilled at tailoring communications to their audience, from internal constituents to the general public, policy makers and community partners.Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $189,750 with a generous benefits package. We are committed to service, above all else, in our community and for our team members. There may be extended periods of walking, standing and/or bending, sitting, driving; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Exposure to a warehouse environment and/or working in inclement weather may occur at times.
