Job Summary: As a Physician in an affiliated medical practice, provides medical services to patients in an assigned area.Job Description:Are you a physician who is seeking an opportunity that offers an exciting mix of clinical and administrative work? MaineGeneral is currently looking for an enthusiastic board certified physician to join a tremendous team in caring for the patients of the Northern Kennebec County region in the beautiful state of Maine.In this role, enjoy the opportunity to provide medical directorship to four well-established, hospital-employed practices, working with dedicated individuals passionate about providing exceptional care to patients, families, and the community. MaineGeneral practices also provide considerable behavioral health support, including a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a licensed clinical social worker providing counseling services, and social work services.Clinical responsibilities for this exciting opportunity include:A commitment to providing quality, compassionate care.Working clinically two days per week at one of the four northern primary care practices.Shared call responsibility for significant issues; RN triage for call service is first point of contact.Medical Director/Administrative Responsibilities include:A strong commitment to team building, mentorship, and collaboration.Time spent between the four northern practices.Providing medical staff leadership for multiple practices, all geographically close in proximity.Partnership in dyad(s) with practice administrators, promoting consistent direction of the practices.Management of schedules including coordination of office schedules and call coverage, as needed.Supporting quality improvement initiatives.Assisting in the implementation and compliance of MaineGeneral policies and procedures.Leading practice medical staff meetings, and other team meetings in partnership with administrative dyad partner.Working collaboratively with service line medical director to resolve medical staff performance issues.Partnering with service line director on medical staff recruitment and retention.Participation in activities such as quality control, process design, coding and billing issues, new program implementation, inspections and surveys, and safety education.Ensuring completion of required trainings, performance reviews, immunizations, billing practices, and other mandatory requirements for direct reports.Monitoring access, referral patterns, and other practice level data and holding medical staff accountable for following work hours.Supporting medical staff in meeting performance and access expectations.Partnership with service line medical director and administrative dyad to develop systems to maximize productivity.Performing annual performance reviews for direct reports.Responsibility to potential multiple lines of accountability: personal and team(s) clinical productivity, strategic goal outcomes as distilled or pertaining to their practice, ensuring team medical record and quality compliance, and ensuring standardized and ongoing access enhancement at their practice(s).In addition to joining thriving practices and the offerings of traditional employment benefits, enjoy the following:Generous Earned Time Off: At MaineGeneral, we recognize the importance of time for rest and rejuvenation.Continuing Medical Education (CME): Your growth and development are essential to us.Educational Loan Assistance Program: We understand the financial burden of education and are committed to supporting your career journey.MaineGeneral Health is Kennebec Valley's largest private employer with a strong commitment to positively impact the health of the community each day through services and involvement.The state-of-the-art, 198 bed MaineGeneral Medical Center at the Alfond Center for Health offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to patients from 88 cities and towns throughout the region.
