New York, NY or Chicago, IL (On-Site) Overview: The Client Associate will work alongside senior Client Advisors covering institutional clients and prospects (e.g., corporate pensions, public pensions, not-for-profit, insurance, and family offices) supporting the North American business development initiatives of the Institutional Client Group at our Global Investment Firm. Responsibilities: Partner with senior Client Advisors in all aspects of their new business generation activities to ensure all goals are being achieved. Act as a backup to Client Advisor on all client/prospect matters. Understand the full client and prospect coverage territory, research and develop deep knowledge of prospects by product interest and plan type. Partner with Client Advisors to coordinate targeted client outreach/marketing campaigns. Understand firm’s full range of investment capabilities to engage directly with clients and prospects as well as colleagues internally. Develop prospect target lists and research sales opportunities and consultant trends in the marketplace utilizing external tools and publications. Conduct competitive analysis and market research utilizing external databases. Assist Client Advisors with internal reporting to senior management including business plans, territory maintenance, and related items. Conduct thorough meeting preparation; research each client/prospect in advance of each meeting; coordinate prep calls with necessary Portfolio Management teams and other key internal teams. Coordinate all follow-ups necessary from meetings. Liaise with other internal teams (marketing, performance, analytics, operations, legal & compliance) to ensure client needs are met. Oversee RFP/RFI submissions; liaise with the RFP & Consultant Database teams, ensure RFP/RFI deadlines and requirements are met, review RFPs/RFIs for accuracy of content. The Associate may also be the designated day-to-day contact for certain client and prospect relationships. The Associate will attend client meetings on behalf of the Client Advisor when he/she is unable to attend. Coordinate significant aspects of the existing client relationship, working closely with the Client Advisor, to ensure all client and consultant servicing needs are addressed in a timely manner. Participate in team projects to enhance internal procedures in accordance with industry best practices. Assist with the mentoring and professional development of Client Analyst teammates. Qualifications: 3 to 5 years’ experience related to investment management industry required. Experience with equity, fixed income, and alternative strategies is preferred. Additional accreditations encouraged (e.g., CFA, MBA, CAIA). Excellent presentation, business writing, and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organization/coordination skills. Enthusiastic team player and highly motivated. Strong analytical and problem-solving, coordination skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Existing Salesforce, eVestment, and Preqin knowledge a plus. Series 7, 66, and 31 licenses preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
