This position requires an individual to support existing, new, and next-generation communications applications. An engineer in this position is responsible for leading projects, developing and managing schedules, providing responses to bids and proposals, deriving software requirements, adding features to current designs, and creating the design and developing applications implementing these requirements.Qualifications:4+ years of experience in embedded software engineeringBS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with embedded software experienceAdditionally, knowledge and experience in at least some of the following is preferable:Networking technologies in routing, switching, quality of service, the OSI model, Quagga, and emerging MANET technologiesKnowledge of protocols such as RIP, OSPF, IP, Ethernet, and Wireless CommunicationsOpen Source Networking Technologies (Network Stack, Open Flow, etc.)Open Source Linux DevelopmentLow-level drivers and hardware interfaces such as PCIeSoftware Defined Systems, especially Software-Defined Radios (e.g., GNU Radio)DevOps technologies such as Virtualization, Docker, Scripting, Git, Testing, and AutomationAgile Development Methodology and Atlassian ToolsMachine Learning, Data Analysis, and Advanced Algorithm Design and DevelopmentA very strong depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application executionScalable High Performance Data Management Technologies (Cassandra, Kafka, MongoDB)Experience with Network Modeling and Simulation Tools both discrete event and real-time (QualNet, OPNet, Emane, NS3)Scripting Languages such as Python, Bash, PerlNetworking Certifications from Cisco and/or Juniper
