Senior Tax Analyst
to join our Tax Team on a hybrid basis out of our Culver City, CA office
The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Senior Tax Manager and VP, Global Tax on all aspects of Scopely’s domestic and international tax planning, strategy, compliance, reporting, and risk management. This is a key role in helping to shape the future tax team.What You Will Do
Be a contributor on day one in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentPrepare the quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations and footnote disclosures in accordance with ASC740 guidancePrepare tax return workpapers for federal and state corporate income tax filingsManage and partner closely with external resources in the preparation and review of federal, multi-state, and international tax returns and filings.Prepare quarterly tax estimates and ensure timely filing of paymentsPrepare quarterly tax account reconciliationsPrepare indirect tax filings such as city tax, gross receipts, sales tax, property tax. Collaborate with foreign offices to support foreign indirect filingsEvaluate, build, and maintain appropriate documentation for tax positionsMonitor nexus and manage taxability across jurisdictions for various lines of businessMonitor and research tax issues across jurisdictions. Assess implications of tax legislative changes and US GAAP and IFRS accounting concepts. Recommend and implement tax strategies to minimize cash tax and risk.Assist with tax forecasting and cash tax planningManage R&D tax credit study and other tax incentives projects and filingsServe as a strong tax partner to the business in driving improvement. Work with other groups to obtain accurate and complete information for tax compliance and planningAssist in developing processes to streamline the tax function and aim for efficiency, automation, and high-quality outputAssist in evaluating and implementing solutions to key initiatives, M&A, ad hoc projects to support business expansionWhat We’re Looking For
An undergraduate degree in Accounting or TaxCPA, or equivalent, is required.Minimum of 4 years of income tax experience, with strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 income tax provision and compliance issues related to multinational companiesCombination of Big 4 experience and industry highly preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Oracle ERP, OneSource, and Corptax a plusProficiency with CCH, RIA, and other tax research toolsAbility to work well with others in a collaborative team environment as well as function with independent responsibilitiesSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibilityAbility to research, analyze and understand complex issuesCommitment to self-improvement, organization, and process improvementAbility to demonstrate consistent attention to detail and have a high level of accuracyRegular, reliable, and predictable performance requiredResourceful and able to manage shifting prioritiesA desire to take on challenges and grow with the roleExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredGaming industry experience is a plusFor candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $ 98,500 - $140,350, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off.
