Houston, TX . The
Analyst Ops Data
will support technical team engineers and provide optimal data sources/data structures used in tools developed by the team that make a significant impact to the company.Responsibilities:Provide data, information, and technical support to engineering.Support tools created by the technical support engineers and create tools to supplement work to achieve team’s objectives.Recognize and resolve data issues.Provide training, best practices sharing, and mentoring to others in the organization (as part of a technical support team).Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years working as an Engineering Tech/Data Analyst.Strong knowledge of data systems (ORACLE, SQL Server) and SQL Syntax.Understanding of database concepts and terminology such as procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and schemas.Familiarity with database security and permissions pertaining to tables and schemas.Creative thinker with a desire to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking with the ability to influence new ideas, processes, and technologies.Ensures high quality data is available for the decision-making processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with multidiscipline customers with varying degrees of experience.Strong communication skills to work in a collaborative environment.Additional Desired Qualifications:Experience with programming languages like Python and VBA.Experience with PEEP, ARIES, ArcMap, OSI PI, and MS Power Platform.Ability to manipulate large amounts of data quickly from multiple data sources with a variety of tools.Permian Basin upstream Oil and Gas experience.This position is not eligible for relocation.Occidental does not offer sponsorship of employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions for this role.Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
