Job SummaryMedline is seeking a Legal Counsel to perform a variety of legal services for clients across Medline’s business. This role will primarily be focused on compliance and regulatory counseling, corporate governance initiatives, and enterprise risk assessment.Job DescriptionMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESProvide advice and support on regulatory matters related to environmental, social and governance issues, primarily OUS regulations that impact the US-based global parent company and global or corporate operations.Support the Corporate ESG team and their global counterparts in strategy development, risk analysis and change management, especially relating to integrating international regulatory priorities into a global sustainability strategy.Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including leaders from ESG, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Trade Compliance, Government Affairs and other areas of the business to ensure global alignment.Support global enterprise risk management processes for ESG, and other corporate functions as needed.Monitor and interpret changes in the global ESG regulatory environment, advising the company on developments and necessary actions.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:
Juris Doctor degree.Certification / Licensure:
Member of a state bar in good standing.Work Experience:
4 or more years of post-law school experience at a law firm or corporation. At least 1 year of post-law school experience related to ESG and sustainability.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience diagnosing complex regulatory issues and recommending and implementing problem solving strategies to a non-legal audience.Management skills such as prioritizing, organizing and tracking strategies and task-level details of multiple projects with varying completion dates.Knowledge of relevant ESG and sustainability laws and regulations.Benefits:
