Job Description
Manage a team of 1+ external reporting professionals. Manage the technical accounting and external reporting processes for shareholders’ equity to the highest level of quality. Determine accounting treatment and lead process improvements for subjects pertaining to ASC480 Distinguishing Liabilities from Equity, ASC505 Equity, ASC718 Compensation-Stock Compensation, including non-controlling interest, tax receivable agreements, treasury stocks, and preferred stocks.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP. Collaborate closely with the compensation team to analyze complex equity transactions, determine the accounting treatment, and document the considerations in accounting memos.
Research, interpret, and implement accounting standards and regulations related to shareholders’ equity and stock-based compensation. Develop, document, and maintain related policies and procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert of ASC718, ASC480, ASC505, ASC810 and coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
Generate detailed reports and analyses on shareholders’ equity and equity awards. Collaborate with the SEC Reporting team in the preparation and review of public filings, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Calculate the basic and diluted EPS. Support tracking and reporting of non-controlling interests, tax receivable agreements, and other stock-related considerations.
Lead, mentor, and develop team members, providing opportunities for training and development.
Management Responsibilities:
Typically manages individual contributors.
Oversee certain projects/programs/outcomes.
Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on technical accounting or external reporting.
Experience at a public company with SEC reporting requirements (or public accounting experience with listed clients).
Experience applying advanced knowledge of accounting practices, controls, and systems.
Strong technical accounting acumen, with a proven ability to perform complex accounting research and analysis.
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
CPA strongly preferred.
Experience at a multi-national manufacturer/distribution company.
Experience at a large, global company with multiple legal entities and a complex consolidation structure.
Experience with an external reporting tool (e.g., Workiva’s Wdesk platform).
Experience executing change management.
Experience leading projects and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and training staff.

The anticipated salary range for this position: $110,240.00 - $165,360.00 Annual. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
