Description

The MCS/VAD Coordinator ( Clinical Nurse IV ) will provide individualized care in the inpatient and outpatient environments under the direction and in collaboration with VAD supervising physicians. Major functions include clinical expertise to provide direct comprehensive patient care management, consultations, education, and research, inter and intradepartmental liaison, resources, and leadership for specific care populations across the healthcare continuum. Report directly to the Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and Nurse Manager.

Salary range: $68.79-$98.22/hourlyQualifications

Current CA licenses of RN or NP - requiredBSN or MSN - requiredCCRN, PALS - preferredBLS certification from AHA or ARC - requiredACLS certification from AHA - required5 years in critical care experience - requiredKnowledge and skills of nursing care - requiredKnowledge of cardiology and heart transplant - requiredKnowledge of normal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology - requiredAbility to identify common cardiopulmonary pathophysiology - requiredPhysical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions - requiredSkill and ability to respond speedily and accurately with patient needs and physician directions - requiredSkill and ability to communicate clearly - requiredSkill and ability to write clearly and concisely - requiredSkill and ability to work as a team - requiredSkill and ability to recognize signs and symptoms of patient distress - requiredSkill and ability to intervene when patient is distressed - requiredAbility to read, interpret, apply and/or follow physician orders, policies, procedures or written and verbal instructions - requiredSkill of organizing and prioritizing - requiredSkill in training staff complex concepts - requiredSkill in evaluating and establishing a program - requiredSkill in organizing and teaching classes - requiredAbility to take calls after work, on weekends and holidays and report to work in a timely manner - required
