The Hired Guns are seeking a Product Manager, Personalization to deploy big data to enable a giant brand in the retail space to engage the customer at every potential touch point with the correct content tailored for exactly who they are and what they’re looking for.The Nitty GrittyThe backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!As Product Manager, Personalization, you’ll bring your technical and business acumen to bear to lead a program of cross-functional projects that support customer transformation by placing personalized customer experience at the center of the universe. Working with Data Governance, Engineering, Digital, Analytics, and other key stakeholders, you’ll gather business requirements, deliver projects, monitor value, identify opportunities to streamline processes, and communicate opportunities to stakeholders from multiple levels of the organization. Your data platform expertise, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and behavior, will enable you to create a strategic roadmap for the creation of personalization experiences that will surprise and delight on a one-to-one level.This role is the first of its kind at this company, and it will require you to be a strategic thinker who can not only change the way the company uses customer data, but also to get your hands dirty in the data itself. You will be an evangelist in building stakeholders’ understanding of what data can do: how to use it, action it and scale it.Why You?How you’ll know if you’re a fit…We’re looking for someone with at least 4 years of experience in product management, preferably with time in the retail industry (omnichannel is an extra plus) and exposure to agile methodologies. You could also be a fit if you’re coming from adtech, finance, or media, so long as your past companies have had complex personalization experiences and mature data governance capabilities, including standardized data dictionaries across multiple systems and business units.You’ve got a degree in a quantitative field (computer science, math, statistics, economics, engineering, or similar subject); an MBA is a plus. We’d love to talk if you’ve worked on big data projects and machine learning modeling projects, especially if related to personalization of the retail experience.You’re a superb communicator with an impressive ability to grasp enterprise-wide data needs and translate them into solutions that benefit all core functions of the organization. You’re a master at the use of storytelling to develop, articulate, and defend a point of view to audiences from different areas at all levels.
