Duties:

MUST HAVE PEDS EXPERIENCE and MN RN LICENSE FOR CONSIDERATION.

University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation. Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based on their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child. Through teamwork and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families.

Emergency Department Overview:

10 beds

Provides care for 15,000 patients annually.

20% admission rate to the hospital.

100% of the patients are pediatric.

Pediatric Emergency Trained Physicians staffed 24 hours a day.

Level 3 Trauma Center.

50 Pediatric Sub-Specialties available at Masonic Children's Hospital, more subspecialties available than any other hospital in the Twin Cities.

40% of the Emergency Department Nurses are Pediatric Certified Pediatric Nurse Certification or Pediatric Emergency Nurse Certification.

Provides care to critically ill and injured pediatric patients that seek emergent care recognizing the unique physiologic and psychosocial needs of the pediatric patient.

Safely employs (sets-up, utilizes and troubleshoots) the following monitoring devices: Arterial lines, Cardiac Monitoring, EKG, EtCO2, Doppler.

Care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.

Required Education:

MN RN license.

BLS through AHA.

PALS through AHA.

ENPC Certification.

TNCC Certification.

One year pediatric ED experience.

Languages:
