IT MANAGER - NETWORKS

Houston, Texas.Overview:Our client is seeking an IT Manager - Networks who will plan, execute, and manage network initiatives in the enterprise, inclusive of implementation of new technologies and management of the existing network environment.Responsibilities:The IT Manager - Networks will be assigned to our client to manage project teams to effectively translate and incorporate strategic objectives into the organization's network technology roadmap. He/she will manage project teams for the installation and integration of new networks and related equipment.Extensive hands-on involvement with Cisco network solutions, including such initiatives as:Developing strategies for IPv6 conversions.Designing and building MPLS network clouds leveraging Cisco network devices.Implementing WAN infrastructures within Data Center environments.Working with vpls, otv, IPv6 & protocol 6 -12.Communications to management in oral and written forms.Qualifications:Position Requirements:
No clearance required.Desired Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree strongly preferred.Desired Experience:
Technical experience, usually gained with 4-5 years of experience as Network Engineer with specific knowledge in the following:LANs, MANs and WANsNetwork routing and switchingFirewallsPhone systems including Public Branch Exchanges (PBX) and VoIP call processors.VSAT technologyVPN technologyCall accounting systemsUnified MessagingImmersive Video conferencing and integration of same.Data-center, server room, IDF and cabling infrastructure management.Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.Management experience, usually gained with 3 to 5 years of experience as a team lead or project manager with:Requesting approval for projects to IT management.Team resource allocation.Status and closure reporting.Oversee and/or assist with internal processes, periodic audits, assessments and tests (HIPAA, SOX, etc.).Serve as an expert to security staff with possible on-call escalation.Manage, forecast (as appropriate) and analyze production requests/issues.Manage the resolution with business relevant solutions.Desired Certifications:
Current CCNE certification, PMP Certification is a plus.
