Entry level – $100,000 - $125,000 DOQMid Level - $125,000 - $150,000 DOQ
The Fixed Income Rates Analyst is primarily responsible for working with and leveraging the time of the Fixed Income Portfolio Managers. The successful candidate will work with the portfolio managers to analyze the domestic and global rates portfolios. The Analyst will perform in-depth country and regional research in order to identify relative value and make recommendations for total return opportunities. The Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our existing analytics system (BlackRock Aladdin). They will also be expected to provide analytical support to the investment process and perform ad-hoc investment analysis related to the investment goals and strategies.Key Duties
Perform fundamental analysis of global rate markets and FX.Provide daily portfolio risk and performance review and attribution.Monitor the new issue market and perform RV analysis of bonds for purchase.Maintain analytical tools and produce periodic reports.Oversee portfolio FX hedging program.Principal Responsibilities
Maintain current knowledge of fundamental economic developments and other factors affecting interest rates within the global investment universe in order to assist in buy and/or sell decisions where multiple solutions exist.Analyze securities markets by performing credit and relative value analysis and provide input on the specific strategies/securities considered for investment.Maintain a sovereign risk scorecard and various existing relative value models and optimization tools.Develop new models and trade ideas to add value to the portfolio.Monitor FX exposure of the Global portfolio and assume responsibility for FX hedging transactions.Produce standard and ad hoc reports as required.Assist Portfolio Managers on an as needed basis with tasks outside of main focus.Required Qualifications
College degree in business, finance, quantitative finance, economics or scientific discipline.Knowledge in fixed-income analytics, along with the ability to apply the concepts to solve practical portfolio problems.Exceptional technical skills. The analyst will assist in progressing the technical aptitude of the entire fixed income team. Experience with programming in Python, VBA or MATLAB is highly desirable.Highly self-motivated and detail oriented. Ability to work accurately and maintain composure under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.Aptitude to gather relevant facts in a timely manner and make sound decisions quickly.Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a firm grasp of sovereign economic fundamentals, fundamental knowledge of investment grade sovereign bond and foreign exchange markets and instruments is highly preferred.2+ years related work experience.MBA, MS in finance, or CFA designation.Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.Knowledge or demonstrated desire to learn Python, VBA or MATLAB.Working knowledge of Blackrock Aladdin or Barclays Point.Key Corporate Attributes
