Hospital Counsel/Risk Manager

The Hospital Counsel/Risk Manager provides personal care and professional excellence by advising the President (or his designee) regarding strategic and tactical legal initiatives.This position will:Provide expert and strategic legal advice to President by evaluating and weighing multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.Advise President of federal and state regulatory and compliance matters, including identifying areas of risk and making suggestions for improvement.Prepare, draft, and/or review agreements or contracts.Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Act as HIPAA Privacy Officer.Perform risk management duties including overseeing investigations, advising on risk management matters, overseeing Hospital’s malpractice captive and outside counsel.May represent President in matters involving regulatory agencies or legislative bodies.Requirements:Juris DoctorMember in good standing with the Ohio Bar.Five (5) years of previous legal work experience at a law firm or in-house legal department advising health care providers on transactional and regulatory health law issues.
