The Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager will be determined and professional, with extensive knowledge of freight forwarding sales and prior experience selling ocean container freight.Job Type:
Full-time; Onsite PositionResponsibilities:Identify business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and in-person meetings.Develop a personal book of business and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.Generate profitable sales in new and existing accounts to meet KPIs and exceed revenue goals.Utilize internal technologies to determine and negotiate competitive rates while still creating a profit.Coordinate with the Operations department to ensure loads are booked and any Customs issues have been resolved.Maintain current knowledge of market trends in the industry as it relates to ocean imports/exports and various lanes/regions.Suggest value-add solutions to new and existing accounts to meet their supply chain needs.Resolve any escalated conflicts that may arise with empathy and professionalism.Experience:Prior ocean import experience is required3-5+ years of freight forwarding sales experience is requiredSelf-motivated, with a desire to achieve and exceed goalsExcellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, as well as technological savvinessResilient problem solver with an empathetic and collaborative approach to understanding customer needsTeam player with strong interpersonal skillsThis position offers a competitive base salary + commission.
