The Digital Fundraising Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Direct Response Marketing. The key responsibilities of this position are to manage the process of acquiring, developing, cultivating, retaining, and upgrading digital Americans United (AU) supporters. The Manager will be an active thought leader in online strategy and campaign development across multiple digital platforms and will work with the Direct Mail, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, and Marketing teams to use data-driven best practices in achieving the organization's overall development revenue goals.This is a full-time, exempt position. This position is a union role; it is included in the bargaining unit represented by AU Collective in connection with SEIU Local 500.BackgroundAmericans United for Separation of Church and State is a nonpartisan educational and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure freedom of religion, including the right to believe or not believe, for all of us. Plan, implement, and maintain online fundraising campaigns including:

EmailSearch Engine Marketing (SEM)SMS/TextingDigital Ads/Podcasts/DTV

Support the Sr. Director in efforts to expand AU’s online program through SEM, SMS, social media, DTV, retargeting, and other emerging online platforms.Coordinate with the Communications and Marketing teams to plan and implement cross-departmental online giving projects and opportunities.Support and grow AU’s sustainer program.Schedule and participate in meetings with other departments related to creative development and execution of online campaigns.Draft email, social, and ad copy for digital appeals.

Administration/Reporting:

Manage email audiences and set up email campaigns in EveryAction CRM.Provide general administrative support, including data entry/hygiene, report creation, editing, general event support, and materials preparation for online campaigns.Provide campaign wrap-up reports and occasional presentations for significant campaigns.Provide backup support for the Sr. Manager of Donor Relations and Development when they are out of office.

Professional Development:

Participate in appropriate professional development activities to keep current with issues and trends in the fundraising field.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 4 years prior digital fundraising experience.Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.Experience with CRM software. EveryAction experience is preferred but not required.Experience executing online fundraising campaigns across multiple platforms, such as email, social media, SMS, retargeting, and more.Prior experience/copywriting skills for email, social, SMS, and ads.Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel campaign reporting skills are required, and experience with Google Workspace and Slack is preferred.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.The ability to maintain accountability and work independently and creatively while functioning as part of a coordinated team.Ability to clearly and accurately communicate with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range is $75,000 to $92,000 for a candidate with 4 to 16+ years of experience. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined by the number of years of relevant experience they bring to the role and their qualifications.
