(CSA) is a marine consulting firm that provides a broad range of environmental, coastal, and oceanographic services in the US and internationally since 1970. They are seeking a self-starting, professional scientist ready to engage in a fast-paced, complex, applied science role in the private sector. This person will be expected to provide customized, competitive, and high-quality consulting support to industry, government and various private sector clients in a highly efficient manner while also adhering to the robust standards of a research scientist. This position will be based out of either the corporate headquarters in Stuart, FL or our regional office in East Greenwich, RI.Position Summary:

CSA seeks a scientist to prepare National Environmental Policy Act and/or Environmental Impact Assessments, Essential Fish Habitat assessments, permit application documents and associated technical reports, participate in conducting research, including field surveys, and preparation of proposals. A background in fish ecology and/or fisheries is required. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of CSA projects including (but not limited to) project management, client interaction, field surveys, data analysis, impact assessments, report writing, and report reviews. The successful applicant must have strong analytical, reviewing, and writing skills. Field work and/or training in specialized equipment is possible depending on applicant qualifications and skills. Experience with environmental permit programs, NEPA and/or EIAs or EFH is required. Background in fish ecology and fisheries is highly preferred. Certified diver skills can be applied.Location:

Stuart, Florida or East Greenwich, Rhode IslandResponsibilities and Essential Functions:

Supporting or leading projects as a scientist and/or assistant project manager on multiple projects;Leading or contributing to the preparation of technical reports, environmental impact documents, and other permitting documents such as EFH assessments;Lead contributions to opportunities requiring expertise in fish ecology and/or fisheries;Leading and assisting in proposals and marketing efforts;Develop and maintain positive client interactions;Developing and reviewing presentations, reports, and other deliverables;Providing technical supervision to project teams;Adhering to company standards and procedures for quality management and demonstrating the application of quality assurance and quality control procedures for data management and deliverables;Compliance with company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy (including pre-employment, annual, random, and for-cause drug and alcohol screening);Adherence to corporate Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies, protocols, and training;Other Duties as assigned.Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

MSc. or higher degree in relevant life science discipline;Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills;Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team;Fish ecology, Fisheries, NEPA and/or EIA, EFH experience;Excellent organizational and analytical skills;Significant initiative, requiring little direction in identifying correct courses of action;Strong team collaboration and communication skills;Ability to multi-task and manage multiple requests from various projects simultaneously;Strong working knowledge of computers and standard Microsoft software packages including word processing skills;Ability to travel and provide on-site or on-vessel support for field-based campaigns both domestically and internationally;Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with statistical analysis;Preparation of permit applications for federal agency review;Open-water SCUBA certification with scientific diving experience or AAUS certification;Experience with marine environmental surveys and sampling equipment;
