Acts as assistant counsel with other attorneys in one or more assigned area of legal specialization (transactions, litigation, compliance) and assists in representing the organization’s legal position in such areas.Provides general counsel support, advice and advocacy for internal departments, divisions and the Board of Directors, with minimal oversight by other attorneys.Handles basic litigation independently or with minimal oversight by other attorneys in connection with a wide variety of claims including personal injury and property damage litigation, employment litigation, administrative hearings, and labor arbitrations; performs basic document collection, review and production, witness preparation, depositions; drafts pleadings, discovery requests and answers, motions and briefs and represents the organization in hearings, trials and arbitration proceedings.Handles basic transaction matters independently or with minimal oversight by other attorneys including drafting, reviewing and negotiating basic contracts and agreements.Researches and prepares legal memoranda and opinions, with minimal oversight by other attorneys, pertaining to a wide variety of compliance areas such as PUC and federal regulatory compliance (FTA/FRA), civil rights, employment, labor relations, public finance, procurement, public entity representation and governance, data privacy, real estate, construction, and public safety.Works closely with support staff in preparing exhibit notebooks, organizing and reviewing contract forms, filing pleadings and obtaining records.Other

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; current membership in the Colorado Bar (or eligibility to apply for admission “On Motion” or by UBE Score Transfer pursuant to C.R.C.P. 203.2(1) or 203.3).A minimum of one year of work experience in the practice of law (including judicial clerkships) after admittance to the bar.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Developing proficiency in litigation or transactions and one or more areas of legal specialization such as PUC and federal regulatory compliance, civil rights, employment, labor relations, public finance, procurement, public entity representation and governance, data privacy, real estate, construction, and public safety.Developing proficiency in legal issues involving governmental entities.Ability to conduct computerized and non-computerized legal and factual research, including Westlaw.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.Ability to conduct legal research with strong analytical and advocacy skills.Ability to use sound judgment and maintain the strictest of confidentiality.Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.ORAn Equivalent Combination Of Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities.WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
