About the role:
At Modular, we are building a next generation AI/ML platform that "just works" across cloud environments, and compute hardware types (CPU, GPU, AI accelerators). A critical component in this vision is a rich and fully-featured developer console, with an ability to access and configure all services as well as visualize usage and ML pipeline details. This role is focused on building out this developer console, spanning front-end and back-end services. You will closely collaborate with the product, design and other engineering teams to build a global scale, highly performant, usability focused web application accessible across various device form factors.

What you will do:
Design and implement a global scale, high-performance, usability-focused web application, in close collaboration with product, design (UX & UI) teamsDrive requirements for, as well as design and implement, APIs for backend servicesDesign, implement and improve underlying infrastructure for APIs and services, including load balancing, security scanning, observability, supply chain controls and moreDevelop an understanding of specific needs in the AI/ML space, and improve services to meet specific user expectations or support specific user journeysPromote usability and accessibility best practicesDrive excellence in graphic standards and branding throughout the product's interface
What you bring to the table:
3+ years of experience working in a front end or full stack roleProficient in TypeScript for modern web developmentExperience with a framework such as React (preferred), Vue, Ember, or AngularUnderstanding of layout and styling with proficiency in HTML and CSS, with Sass a plusExperienced and proficient in all aspects of web development lifecycle, including version control (git), CI/CD pipelines, testing, and deploymentsExperience with API design and development, ideally with some Node JS experienceDevotion to quality and engineering excellenceStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrongly identifies with our core company cultural values
Compensation:
The estimated base salary range for this role to be performed in the US, regardless of the state, is $135,000.00 - $242,000.00 USD. The salary for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of permissible, non-discriminatory job-related factors, which include but are not limited to education, training, work experience, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future. The total compensation for a candidate will also include annual target bonus, equity, and benefits, with equity making up a significant portion of your total compensation.
