We are looking for a
Python Software Engineer
to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and improving our data technology for our enterprise-class applications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with web development.In This Position, You'll Be Responsible For
Writing “clean”, well-designed codeProducing detailed specificationsDeveloping and deploying new features using Agile and similar methodologiesSupporting production processing by troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise around data processing, performance and set-upDeveloping and maintaining the software responsible for the manipulation of data including parsing, matching loading and publishing. Streamline, introduce efficiencies, eliminate errors and increase accuracyDesigning, developing and maintaining efficient and robust ETL workflows which produce data extracts and process feeds between various internal and third-party partnersTroubleshooting, testing and maintaining the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionalityContributing in all phases of the development lifecycle, including participating in Pull request process for peer code reviewFollowing industry best practicesRequired Experience
Total of 4+ years of full-stack web development to include:Front-end: HTML, JavaScript, CSSMiddle: Set up web server and log production web serverBack-end: Write logic in PythonQuery, design, and development of databases, specifically with SQL, Postgres or MySQLWeb frameworks such as Flask, DjangoSolid understanding of relational databases and SQLPreferred Experience
RestFul API design and integrationsData integration and ETL, data warehousing, and data mart conceptsGit or other version control toolsAutomation and continuous integrationsAgile environment and testing frameworks (e.g., unittest/pytest)Comfortable with basic shell scripting in a Unix environmentDevelopment with Celery or experience with pub/sub pattern (i.e., RabbitMQ)Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud computing platformsORM Implementation (SQLAlchemy)Deploy web infrastructure using Apache, Nginx, gunicorn, or uWSGIFamiliarity with scheduling frameworks, preferably AirflowAs a leading payments company in healthcare, we guide, price, explain, and pay for care on behalf of insurers and their members.
