Department Overview

FSM Accounting & Finance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all financial transactions for FSM and the summarizing, analyzing and reporting of those transactions to our parent company, regulators, and tax collection entities. Responsibilities extend to payroll, treasury, tax and compliance, and risk management. In addition, the department is dedicated to working with all business and department leaders on financial reporting and controls, setting strategies through budgeting and forecasting, analyzing key operating indicators and trends, and ensuring proper oversight of FSM’s financial resources.Position Overview

The Accountant will primarily be responsible for activities for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management entries. This position will also assist the FSM Accounting team with related and general administrative duties.Responsibilities

Create and update vendor profilesObtain coding and approval for all APProcess weekly AP disbursements through various vehiclesReconcile vendor & AP accountsManage sales tax accruals and monthly tax filingManage vendor portals to obtain invoicesCreate and update client profilesMonitor invoicing schedule and generate invoicesManage customer portals to upload invoices and statementsReconcile and manage rebillable invoicesApply customer receipts and depositsReconcile customer and AR accountsManage collections through client communication and sales teamMonitor and record daily cash activityReconcile daily cash flowContract managementInsurance managementDaily reporting for accounting and internal constituentsAssist with monthly close tasksAd hoc accounting and finance projectsFiling, scanning & data collection tasksQualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred1-3 years of related experienceAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlinesAcute attention to detail and high accuracy levelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Excel highly preferredExperience with modular software programs a plusAt the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Management, we go beyond embracing diversity.
