Job SummaryIn this role, you will focus on partnering with the engineering groups to lead and drive machine learning applications. You will participate in the detailed technical design, development, and implementation of machine learning applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. You will serve as a technical lead, helping guide machine learning architectural design decisions, developing and reviewing model and application code, and ensuring high availability and performance of our machine learning applications.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeliver ML software models and components that solve real-world business problems, while working in collaboration with the Product and Data Science teamsSolve complex problems by writing and testing application code, developing and validating ML models, and automating tests and deploymentCollaborate as part of a cross-functional Agile team to create and enhance software that enables state-of-the-art, next generation big data and machine learning applicationsLeverage cloud-based architectures and technologies to deliver optimized ML models at scaleConstruct optimized data pipelines to feed ML modelsUse programming languages like Python, Scala, or JavaLeverage continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application codeAdvocate for software and machine learning engineering best practicesFunction as a technical lead and mentor junior engineering talent

QualificationsKnowledge ofYou have at least one core programming expertise, such as Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) or RExperience with advanced machine learning methods in NLPStrong statistical knowledge, intuition, and experience modeling real dataAbility to communicate complicated methods and results to a broad, often non-technical audienceDemonstrated effective coding, documentation, and communication habitsExperience in Financial Services or Wealth Management industries strongly preferred.

Skill inProven NLP machine learning skills, including Transformer, BERT, k-shot learning, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Elasticsearch, etc.Experience in researching, evaluating and implementing different algorithms and tools for NLP tasksKnowledge in development of statistical and machine learning models, including model validation, monitoring, explainability, and interpretabilityExperience in AWS ecosystem Spark, Kafka, Mongo, Neo4j are plus.

Education/Previous ExperienceMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or combination of education, experience, and training.At least 4 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computingAt least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Scala, or JavaAt least 2 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systemsExperience developing and deploying ML solutions in a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is preferred.

Highly Desired:Strong AI Machine Learning background, with NLP focusIdentify, research, prototype, and build predictive productsBuild cutting-edge models for understanding vast amounts of textual dataWrite quality production codeWrite tests to ensure ML system reliabilityWork closely with DevOps software engineers to launch systemsGuide and mentor team members and help educate the business stakeholders
