AR / AP Specialist

Vaco is seeking a skilled AP/AR Specialist to join a finance team and play a vital role in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for their real estate operations. The AP/AR Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring timely collections from tenants.Responsibilities:Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and utility bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Prepare and review payment batches for approval, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.Generate and send invoices to tenants for rent, utilities, and other charges, and follow up on overdue payments.Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and initiate collection efforts as needed.Maintain tenant records and ensure accurate billing and payment application.Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to address tenant inquiries and resolve billing issues.Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.Prepare financial reports and analysis as requested by management.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related finance role, preferably in the real estate industry.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and practices.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of property management software and online banking platforms is a plus.Benefits:Competitive salaryComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plansRetirement savings plan with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive and inclusive work environment
