Minimum: 92,913.60, Midpoint: 116,147, Maximum: 139,380.80Some of what you'll be doing:You will perform essential legal contracting duties exempt from Central Procurement Office procedures. Draft and compile all necessary documents to engage outside counsel, secure final contracts, and ensure compliance with Port policies.You will manage 150+ active contracts, including billing, payments, and budget oversight. You will oversee the department’s stand-alone outside counsel electronic billing system and negotiate third-party contracts to ensure the best licensing, service levels, and value to the Port.You will create and monitor the department budget. You will forecast the needs of the department, update the budget, and present to executive management. You will monitor expenses via responsibility reports and monthly variance reports and develop budget recommendations.You will coordinate claims reserve amounts with the Risk Management department.You will administer department payroll functions.You will coach, mentor, and train Paralegals and Legal Assistants by providing performance management, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting staff growth and development. You will lead staff recruitment and coordinate onboarding activities for new employees in the department.You will direct the operational management and serve as a key member of the department leadership team to ensure high quality customer service and support is provided to internal customers.You will aid and act as liaison to General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in administrative and systems-related interactions with internal Port staff, outside counsel, vendors, and consultants.You will prepare documents for court filing or recording using proper terminology, forms, and formats. You will draft documents, proofread with attention to detail, and complete filing.You will assist users with SharePoint Record Center issues. You will locate, protect, or archive expired records, as needed. You will serve as Port-wide contact for troubleshooting all departments’ Records Center issues.Who you are:Experienced:
You have five (5) years of office management experience that includes budgeting, contracting, and technology systems management with minimal supervision, ideally in a legal office or public agency setting.Educated:
You have completed two (2) years of college coursework in general legal studies or similar field.Desired:
