As an

PRINCIPAL COMPLIANCE ENGINEER

at MKS Instruments, you will partner with cross functional technical teams and external compliance testing facilities to drive regulatory product compliance and support sustainability initiatives for multiple product lines and technologies. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Compliance Engineering.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Assume compliance responsibility for all products within the Plasma and Reactive Gas business unit

Work closely with engineering and cross functional product teams to ensure all NPI (New Product Introduction) and legacy product adhere to required regulatory compliance standards

Partner with engineering to ensure technical approaches, documentation, concepts and solutions are implemented according to MKS specification and requirements

Direct and conduct internal compliance testing, leading efforts to solve engineering safety issues resulting in compliance testing

Ensure product designs meet applicable regulation requirements including certification, ongoing testing and processing requirements

Maintain regulatory approvals and resolve compliance issues with design and manufacturing engineering

Coordinate design requirement review with appropriate engineering personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods

Skills You Bring:

B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred, along with 7+ years of experience focused on product compliance testing

Experienced with LVD, EMC/EMI directives, and harmonized standards (61010-1, 61326-1, Semi S2, etc...)

Working knowledge of global regulations (FCC, CE, KC, UL, RoHS, REACH, CA65, EPA TSCA, WEEE, China RoHS, PFAS, and others) across multiple industries (commercial and industrial products)

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with 3rd party test houses in scheduling, coordinating and executing testing

Comfortable in environments that depend on influence to drive outcomes

Excels in tackling complex problems and synthesizing them into actionable solutions

Knowledgeable with hands-on troubleshooting test experience (LVD, EMC/EMI)

Easily handles project multitasking with timelines

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Able to travel approximately 5% annually as needed to support regulatory product compliance testing
