In 2021, RELCO partnered with Crete United to build a leading commercial electrical contracting company in New England. Crete United is one of the largest and fastest growing providers of commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services in the United States. Since partnering with Crete United, RELCO has experienced significant growth and is seeking a VP of Operations to help lead the company through its next chapter. VP of Operations
oversees all aspects of operations (field, project management, estimation, purchasing and safety) across all locations. In addition, the VP of Operations has full P&L ownership for the operations department. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and significant operational experience in the commercial electrical contracting industry. The VP of Operations will report to RELCO’s President and will have regular interaction with the Crete United Regional Vice President. This position is based in Easton, MA.Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve budget goals for your department.Manage all aspects of operations (field, estimating, project management, purchasing, safety, etc.).Optimize project profitability and execution (estimation, pricing, contracting, scheduling, tracking, reforecasting, material cost controls, and labor productivity).Build a strong safety culture to minimize the potential for injuries on our job sites and at our facilities.Develop and implement a plan to be the employer of choice in the region and increase the size of our field workforce.Build a high performing team and set clear goals for your direct reports.Train and develop the managers, staff and electricians in your department.Work with the business development team to develop new client relationships and expand existing customer relationships.Work with the President and CFO in the development of budgets, monitor and track the financial performance of your department, and participate in monthly financial and operations reviews.Build long-term business relationships with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and partner companies within the Crete portfolio.Position RequirementsStrong leader with a track-record of leading teams to achieve results.Desire to play a key leadership role during a period of transition and rapid growth at our company.10+ years operations leadership experience in the commercial MEP contracting space preferably with experience in the electrical contracting industry.Experience managing $5m+ projects.Technical knowledge gained through experience as an electrician, estimator, project manager, engineer, or operations manager.Previous experience leading teams of 50 or more people.Previous experience in a P&L responsible role.Design build capability is a plus.Strong communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).CompensationWe offer an extremely competitive base salary with a lucrative performance-based bonus plan along with comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance as well as 401k w/ 4% match.For immediate consideration call Paul Pruitt at 715-808-5712Experience
