Description:Technical Requirements:
Strong programmatic fluency for data analytics.Experience with R, including scripting, functional programming, package management, markdown and shiny. Python experience a plus.Experience with R in a cloud/aws environment, specifically reading and writing to s3, redshift, or other cloud-based data storage.Project management with version control in git/bitbucket.Proficiency in statistical analysis methods and data visualization techniques to interpret climate-related datasets.Ability to construct effective and clean visualizations including charts, tables, and maps for use in analytics.Experience with custom CSS or js in R is a plus.Experience with data management and database systems for organizing and accessing large volumes of climate-related data, prefer experience with Redshift, and S3.Experience with large data management techniques such as partitioning, multi-threading, parquet, Spark/Hadoop, etc.Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software and spatial analytics tools for mapping and analyzing geospatial data related to climate impacts.Experience creating and publishing dashboards in Tableau, specifically end-to-end pipeline execution - creating data extracts, optimization, dashboard design and build, publishing to Tableau server, scheduling and refresh.
Non-Technical Requirements:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges related to climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.Experience in conducting risk assessments and scenario planning for climate-related impacts on businesses or communities.Excellent communication skills to convey complex climate data and analysis results to diverse stakeholders effectively.
Knowledge of climate science principles and understanding of climate change models and projections.
