Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with expertise in R/Python and experience in climate data analysis to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading financial institution and contribute to critical climate change initiatives.Responsibilities:

Utilize Python/R programming for data analysis, including scripting, functional programming, package management, and data visualization tools (e.g., markdown, shiny).Work within a cloud environment (AWS) to access and manage climate data stored in S3 and Redshift databases.Implement project management practices and utilize version control systems (Git/Bitbucket).Conduct statistical analysis and create compelling data visualizations (charts, tables, maps) to interpret climate-related datasets.Develop and maintain clean and informative dashboards using Tableau, including data extraction, optimization, design, publishing, scheduling, and refresh.Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.Conduct risk assessments and scenario planning to evaluate the impact of climate change on businesses and communities.Effectively communicate complex climate data and analysis results to a diverse audience.Qualifications:

Proven experience using R/Python for data analysis.Familiarity with Python programming is a plus.Experience working with cloud environments, particularly AWS S3 and Redshift.Proficiency in statistical analysis methods and data visualization techniques.Experience with project management and version control systems.Strong understanding of climate data and its analysis.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with custom CSS or Javascript in R.Experience with large data management techniques (partitioning, multi-threading, parquet, Spark/Hadoop).Familiarity with GIS software and spatial analytics tools.Experience creating and publishing dashboards in Tableau (end-to-end pipeline execution).Experience in conducting risk assessments and scenario planning related to climate change.To Apply:
