Job Description

The Legal Counsel provides tactical legal advice and support to internal clients, typically at the Director or Vice President level.Responsibilities

Contracting, with a focus on medical pharmacy service agreements and various other service arrangements with health plansProvide tactical legal advice and support to internal clients including PBM, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, government programs, administrative support functions or other areas as assignedPerform research, drafting and transactional work in support of legal matters; may manage litigation efforts for assigned business areaDevelop responses to requests for proposals/requests for information in support of the company’s specialty drug management business, and otherwise working closely with the sales and account management teams on legal issues relating to procurement and retention of customersAdvise internal clients regarding compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies; develop and facilitate legal training and investigate issues as neededProvide client training on legal principlesCoordinate partnership with in-house and outside legal resources where appropriateOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications

Juris doctor degreeCurrent license to practice law in resident jurisdiction5 years of experience practicing as an attorney or related legal experience in a regulatory or compliance role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with managed care companies or other health care clientsMust be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorshipAdditional Qualifications

Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with competing prioritiesAbility to establish rapport and build relationships among all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to distill complex concepts or situations into concise and compelling communicationsExpert communication, negotiation and influencing skillsPreferred Qualifications

Experience with PBMs, pharmacies and/or health benefit insurersMinimum Physical Job Requirements

Potential pay for this position ranges from $125,200.00 - $200,000.00 based on experience and skills.
