(Only QUALIFIED Healthcare Professionals accepted)Community Health - Director of NursingWorking with a community healthcare practice providing comprehensive and compassionate care to underserved communities, you will lead the nursing department in providing exceptional integrated primary care services.We are in search of nursing leadership to help steward change as our practice continues to grow. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for supervising the training and supervision of a passionate team of nurse managers and staff nurses. He or she will work side by side with medical leadership to redefine the future of our nursing department by updating our staffing structure, increasing our coordination of care across departments, enhancing workflows for patient care coordination, enriching nurse education visits, improving departmental budget, and more.The DON will supervise and mentor on-site Nurse Managers, helping them address clinical, operations, and personnel matters. Work with the Director of Operations to coordinate communication and coordination between clinical and non-clinical departments. Collaborate with the Medical Director and CFO to define staff ratios to meet clinic and budgetary goals throughout the fiscal year. Work collaboratively with IT and Informatics Departments to enhance EHR and phone system capabilities to meet the communication and documentation standards within the nursing role.Work as Staff Nurse 20-30% of the time to maintain understanding of clinical operations, EMR, issues, and patient needs. Work closely with the Complex Care Manager and Prevention and Wellness Manager to develop coordinated roles and responsibilities of nursing throughout the health center. Collaborate with the Medical Director to integrate clinical disciplines and optimize all team members to meet quality improvement goals; implement EMR upgrades; achieve Meaningful Use, and other department goals. Lead practice transformation and improvement efforts to meet ACO goals and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in developing plans for achieving success in ACO quality metrics. Additional oversight of staff and/or areas may be required in the future.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing; Master’s or Advanced Practice Degree preferred. Licensed in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse with 3+ years of experience in nursing with recent clinical experience in an outpatient medical setting. Experience managing and supervising staff. Understanding of ambulatory family practice health care program administration and clinical operations. Good communication skills, particularly with staff and patients from diverse cultures whose primary language is not English. Experience with Patient-Centered Medical Home model and concepts preferred. Knowledge of and experience with EMR and Microsoft Office systems required. Bilingual/bicultural preferred.
