Job Overview The Business Analyst is a key role in the implementation of successful projects. In the newly formed team, the business analyst will act as the conduit between multiple stakeholders including programme management, business leads, Investment teams, and other subject matter experts. The individual will elicit requirements from stakeholders, ensure the proposed solution is fit for purpose, and drive the solution through to implementation.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
Coordinate and conduct requirements gathering workshops across Investment teams and produce associated deliverables.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
Prepare proposals and recommendations that facilitate decision making on scope, priority, risk, and timings.
Work with the change management team to ensure adoption of the target state at functional level.
Identify and manage risks that may affect the completion of projects, detect unstated assumptions, and escalate where appropriate.
Business Requirements
Collaborate with a range of internal teams and external partners to analyze and document clear and concise business requirements, use cases, processes, and related business rules across areas including portfolio management, research, portfolio monitoring, and trading.
Work closely with Investments experts to ensure investment capability requirements are integrated into the target TOM.
Conduct gap analysis on the business requirements and establish where additional investment tooling may be required.
Turn high-level requirements into solutions and detailed specifications.
Assess and ensure that proposed solutions are fit for purpose.
Work closely with Investment experts to define, build, and document investment processes on core and additional tools.
User Acceptance Testing
Coordinate user requirements and testing.
Environment configuration and documentation.
Support test planning, UAT, Regression, and Performance testing.
Assist with or perform the delivery of end-user training and materials.
Responsible for post-go live application support and transition to Support group.
Experience and Skills
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to accurately identify, document, and recommend innovative solutions to complex business problems.
Experience working with Investment teams.
Solid understanding of a broad range of asset classes and investment strategies.
Understanding of OCIO and asset allocator model.
Significant experience in process analysis and change environments.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and handle several projects at once.
Results-oriented and strives to achieve high levels of individual and organizational performance.
Professional, disciplined, and proactive approach to work.
Good team worker, as projects will often involve working with colleagues in multiple areas of the business and across different countries.
Experience with project delivery and methodologies.
Strong technology acumen with experience in investment management.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external clients at all levels.
A graduate with at least 5 years’ relevant experience delivering solutions in the financial services or investments industry. Formal qualifications in business analysis and/or project management preferred, but not essential. Investment qualifications (e.g. IMC, CFA, etc.) desirable but not essential.
