About The Role

We are looking for our first Engineer Manager to join our team of talented and elite engineers. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in building Freed’s engineering culture of speed, responsibility, and ownership, while ensuring the team is making excellent decisions. This is a hands-on role that will require you to drive the delivery of high-quality software products while building features yourself.How You’ll Make An Impact

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to team members to help them grow and develop at FreedEstablish and maintain effective engineering processes, optimizing for efficiency, scalability, and reliabilityDrive the development and implementation of product features, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and quality standardsHelp to establish and build our engineering culture, ensuring we are hiring and developing talent that encompasses these valuesTake ownership of product features and drive implementation across the backend (TypeScript) and frontend (React/TypeScript) components of our software stack.Build a diverse and inclusive team of engineers as we scale rapidly this year.What We Will Bring

7+ years of experience in full-stack Software Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management roleStrong technical proficiency with React, TypeScript, NodeJS, SQL, GitExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.A track record of building and developing high-performing teams and culture.
