About The Role
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - UX is a member of an Agile-oriented cross-functional team of software engineers, business systems analysts, software testers, technical writers, and graphic designers who leverage software to solve real-world problems in the Container Handling industry. The SDET actively develops new test automation code and maintains existing test automation code with a high degree of quality, leveraging strong software design and test automation principles, ingenuity and creativity, attention to detail, and analytical skills to devise unique and innovative ways to test software solutions. The SDET is responsible for writing test code and test cases for UX features while maintaining robust test automation suites, and employing validation, sanity, regression, and smoke testing during Sprint cycles to ensure builds are fully tested prior to releases.
The SDET works with Business Systems Analysts to determine customer and product requirements and their applicability to product code and test code; with Developers to better understand detailed acceptance criteria and scenarios, and to help debug issues; with Application Support to understand, debug, and resolve issues found by customers in production or lower environments; and with Product Engineering Management to deliver and track status on team, product, customer, and company initiatives.

Test UX designs and CSS properties, in detail, for responsive web pages on different browsers, platforms, and devicesValidate UX story functionalities and write corresponding test casesSanity test feature stories prior to release datesRegression test release branches for build certificationsSmoke test release branches for hot fixesDetect defects, investigate root cause, and create bug ticketsWrite automated scripts for new test casesFix broken automation scripts caused by UX changesParticipate in all Agile processes: Stand-Ups, IPM, Retro, ShowcasesCollaborate with BAs, DEVs, SDETs, and DevOps on cross-functional teamsPromote new ideas and/or tools that can improve current processes and/or automation codeBe highly available during core business hours whether on premises or remoteWhat You Will Need
Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervisionGood analytical skills to work with developers for troubleshootingProactive in learning new tools/techniquesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environment and independently handling complex problemsCapable of using Chrome Dev Tools to inspect CSS, errors, and network calls/payloadsAble to write clear and concise test cases and organize them in a logical order for Test suite libraryAbility to code in a reusable, modular, and readable fashion following industry best practicesCan adapt to change and triage priorities in a fast-paced environmentComfortable developing automation scripts using JavaScript, Chai, and WebdriverIOAble to create page selectors for automation using advanced CSS selectorsPassion for new processes and technologies that can better the team and companyTRAINING

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $95,000.00-134,500.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
