The mission of the Application Security (AppSec) team is to provide best in class tooling for account management, authentication, authorization, and data security and integrity to protect the data of our 250,000+ customers and the data they own across their ecosystem.The AppSec team focuses on the backend development and service architecture for our authentication & authorization services, including identity and access management, logging and auditing, single sign-on, and role based access policies. Along with the services, we own the frontend experience for these features and bring a customer-focused approach to balancing customer ease of use and clear user experiences with each security feature we release.About The Role
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the development of key features within the security space, working alongside other experienced engineers. You will work directly with the team lead to help drive technical conclusions from stakeholders, as well as set our roadmap, team objectives, and goals.How you’ll make an impact
Develop breakthrough results in Klaviyo systems’ operational scalability and reliabilityChampion best practices by actively collaborating with other teams in a culture that values whiteboarding and technical design reviewWork hand-in-hand with customer facing roles such as our sales and support teams, along with the teams Product Manager, to ship high value features.Confidently make informed, data-driven decisions in a fast paced environment with competing prioritiesWhat we’re looking for
Fundamental computer science knowledge demonstrated in a modern language such as: JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, Ruby, TypeScript, C, C++, C#, etc.Collaborated on one or more software projectsPersistence in solving problemsGood communication skillsAbility to participate in an on-call rotationNice to haves
Receptive to feedback, Klaviyos are what we create togetherPrevious experience in a relevant security focused product or companyExperience working with common identity provider vendors, building authorization and authentication features or platformsExperience with KubernetesCloud development utilizing a major provider such as AWS, GCE, Azure, etc.The pay range for this role is listed below. Sales roles are also eligible for variable compensation and hourly non-exempt roles are eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law. This role is eligible for benefits, including: medical, dental and vision coverage, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), flexible paid time off and company-paid holidays and a culture of learning that includes a learning allowance and access to a professional coaching service for all employees.Pay Range For US Locations:
