As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support the Human Resources team with all phases of day-to-day Human Resources management activities such as recruiting, onboarding, compliance with policies and local/state/federal laws, employee relations, Workday administration, and terminations. You will ensure the company’s culture is considered in all actions, decisions, and interactions, and continually look for opportunities to improve processes which provide better results for the benefit of employees, managers, and the company overall.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Attract, hire and engage a no-equal workforce. (50%)

Work with leaders to create/maintain concise, well-written job descriptions to ensure team or department responsibilities are analyzed and accurately reflect the role.Assist in the development and maintenance of level cutters to ensure employees know the skill levels required by the organization for promotions and effectiveness in the role.Partner with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Manager to source candidates using various, relevant sourcing methods. Screen, interview, and qualify potential candidates.Mediate disputes and assist employees in addressing concerns with managers. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.Manage the day-to-day relationship with contingent workforce vendors and be the functional contact for all temporary workforce issues and questions.Drive and Support a Values-Based Culture

Support and properly apply and enforce Simpson policies and practices. Assist in the establishment of new policies as needed.Elevate leadership capabilities and prepare the next generation workforce. (20%)

In partnership with L&OD, ensure the success of the Strong Leaders and Emerging Leaders programs. Drive participation and engagement to ensure program is successful.Coach/Mentor HR Coordinators and employees within your branch.Implement sustainable and scalable processes, tools, and technology to enable effective HR delivery by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of HR. (30%)

Implement human resources programs by providing Human Resources services, including talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, EEO compliance, and employee relations.Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, Communication or Liberal Arts or at least 5 years of equivalent work-related experience.Experience

At least 5 years of experience in progressive human resources experience with a focus in training, full cycle recruiting, employee relations, policy interpretation and administration, and performance management.HR Certification such as: HRCI/SHRM related Certification.Skill, Knowledge or Ability Explanation

Knowledge of employment-related federal and state employment regulations.Accurately diagnose organization issues, develop solutions and implement action plans.Quickly and effectively solve problems and maintain productive internal and external relationships.Set priorities, goals, and timelines to achieve maximum productivity.Communicate effectively with co-workers and present information to top management.Ability to balance analysis, wisdom, experience, and perspective when making decisions.Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other Simpson Strong-Tie employees.Fulfill commitments made to customers, peers, co-workers, and managers.Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Monitor and review work for accuracy and completeness.Ability to utilize Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer to effectively complete work.Travel Required

This job requires 10% domestic travel.WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position may be remote or a flex schedule and is required to work Pacific time zone (PST) business hours.RELOCATION
