The Position:
RA’s client is seeking a talented, detail-oriented, and collaborative Senior Software Engineer to contribute towards the development of application code for its optical and electro-optical instrumentation and equipment. You will have strengths in programming cross-platform applications that interface with peripheral hardware such as cameras and motion control systems, along with a proven record of writing creative, bulletproof code. Mathematical aptitude and experience with optics or image processing is a big plus. This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager but requires a high degree of self-motivation as well as the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Write application software for instrumentation on both Windows and Linux platforms.
Manage software development projects.
Participate in engineering consulting projects.
General maintenance, support, and improvement of existing product application code.
Write technical documentation such as user manuals for existing software products.
Provide technical support to customers and projects on software-related issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Science Degree.
A minimum of 3 years of software development experience in at least two high-level programming languages: Linux, Python, or .Net Core.
Minimum of 5 years of software development experience in Microsoft .Net Framework.
Experience developing software applications using open-source software packages, such as OpenCV, LibGD, etc.
Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills.
Solid experience in instrumentation development – firmware experience a plus!
Experience or knowledge of optics, photonics, or image processing is preferred.
Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
