Job Description

Fox Cable Network Services, LLC seeks a Data Scientist to utilize background in data analysis, data visualization and machine learning/artificial intelligence to build and implement solutions and utilize the best practices to keep FOX ahead of game. Solve big data problems using a breadth of modeling and quantitative techniques, including understanding of data science concepts and techniques across the disciplines of applied statistics and machine learning. Specific duties include:Write efficient and practical programs in Python.Demonstrate attention to detail when debugging.Write unit tests to detect them before serving models to production.Understand the ML (machine learning) algorithms being implemented at a mathematical level and consider program runtime and space complexity.Identify how to modify the ML training process for the particular task.Develop data acquisition pipelines and data labeling workflows with embedded SQL, pySpark, or Athena.Deal with various file types, data formats, and data structures.Build supervised and unsupervised learning systems to support Sports analytics.Drive feature engineering and experimentation to improve performance of ML Models.Telecommuting permitted from any location in the U.S.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of data science or related experience in data analysis including experience deploying ML (machine learning) models in different deployment architectures, databases, streaming and messaging queues; designing data labeling workflows with cloud-based tools in AWS or GCP; optimizing model performance; and conducting error analysis on baseline ML models.Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related field, plus five (5) years of data science or related experience in data analysis including experience deploying ML (machine learning) models in different deployment architectures, databases, streaming and messaging queues; designing data labeling workflows with cloud-based tools in AWS or GCP; optimizing model performance; and conducting error analysis on baseline ML models.

Specific skills:

Also requires experience or knowledge in the following:Traditional ML models including Random Forest, regressions and KNN;Deep learning methods, artificial intelligence, statistics and applied mathematics;Computer Vision, NLP (Natural Language Processing), recommendation engines and time-series forecasting;Container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes;Linux, EC2, EMR, Serverless AWS Lambda, Elastic Load Balancers, Bastion Hosts and NAT (Network Address Translation).Any level of experience or knowledge in the specific skills is acceptable.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $159,650.00-175,615.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
