Test Engineer - IV

Summary:The main function of the Characterization Engineer is to deliver new cutting-edge technologies that serve the camera and depth sensing device development. The engineer is required to have a broad and solid technical background in optics and electronics. Familiar with the operations of image systems and light sources (VCSEL laser, LED illumination) and common electronic lab equipment, such as optical detector, power meter, spectrometer, motion stage and oscilloscope.Responsibilities:Support camera and depth characterization and design validation process for Reality Labs’ product lines.Implement experimental methodologies for characterizing and calibrating cameras and depth systems.Help to design characterization targets and scenes, as well as automated rigs to methodically measure system performance across ranges, objects, and operating conditions.Develop and assemble experiment setup in the lab for characterization and calibration tasks.Develop and implement data processing procedures.Work with teams in areas of hardware, firmware, and manufacturing to troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on prototype devices.Work with operation teams in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning process quality and reliability.Skills:Master's Degree in Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering, or related equivalent experience.Knowledge of camera systems working principles, test methodologies, and optoelectronic measurement tools.Experience in camera system characterization and/or validation in the consumer electronics industry is a plus.Experience with free-space optics, setting up optical systems for camera characterization and lab automation.Hands-on experience in debugging instrumentation/hardware and firmware issues.Experience with data collection and processing using MATLAB or Python.Knowledge of C++ programming in a Linux/Unix environment is a plus.Proficient in computer vision and image processing algorithms is a plus.Understanding of camera models, calibration methods, distortion models, rectification methods, and multi-camera synchronization is a plus.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Education and Experience:MS degree in engineering.Compensation:The pay rate range above is the base hourly pay range that Aditi Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location, and end client requirements).Benefits and Ancillaries:Medical, dental, vision, PTO benefits and ancillaries may be available for eligible Aditi Consulting employees and vary based on the plan options selected by the employee.
