The NBCU Local Political Team is looking to add an account executive to its growing organization. You will have touchpoints with nearly every facet of NBCU – from linear to streaming, Hispanic, research, sports, operations, legal and finance.
You will also be embedded in a highly skilled mesh of talented professionals located throughout the country that represent 11 NBC, 31 TLMD and 5 RSN owned stations, as well as our streaming video capabilities via SpotOn featuring Peacock. Based in Washington DC, you will be a key pillar of one of the most robust and dynamic revenue streams in local media.
The successful candidate will capitalize on their extensive political relationships to maximize revenue for NBCU across its entire portfolio. They will immerse themselves in the political landscape and ensure NBCU’s value proposition is top of mind for political stakeholders both during and around political cycles.Responsibilities
Develop, retain as well as expand business for NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock ad salesSpearhead political agencies calls and presentations across the Central, Southeast and Eastern regionsPresent and close SpotOn OTT & Peacock ad sales, via both direct and programmatic channelsCollaborate with Network sales partners and communicate effectively to generate and grow NBCU revenueTrack candidate/issue assignments at agencies for upcoming elections and report them to relevant internal stakeholdersMonitor candidate/issue spend via internal resources and mobilize relevant parties to maximize revenueTravel to cities for political sales calls outside of Washington, D.C. (ie LA, Chicago, New York)Collaborate with all owned stations on rate card managementAssist in budgeting for upcoming year, both at the corporate and individual station levelAct as point of contact for station questions regarding political procedure and FCC regulationsCollaborate with legal counsel on FCC compliance and manager trainingQualifications
Possesses an established positive reputation within the DC political arena amongst key agencies and consultantsGoes above transactional selling, showcasing a hunger to mine for new businessDisplays subject matter expertise in OTT/CTV, data solutions, & attributionWell-versed in the FCC regulations regarding political advertisingPrior Spanish language and Sports sales are a strong plusTeam player who displays strong communication and interpersonal skills while collaborating with various departments within NBCUCan multi-task efficiently and accurately with precise attention to detail, especially in last minute asksStrong knowledge of the digital marketplaceFamiliarity with Wide Orbit Media Sales preferredStrong organizational skillsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience10+ years sales/client solutions experienceEligibility Requirements
