Position DescriptionMinimum Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Experience : 1 yearSummary : Financial Institution and Policy Analysts work under regular supervision to conduct in-depth analyses on quantitative and qualitative data. Perform assigned project tasks while developing domain expertise. Share information and ideas regarding projects and work primarily for their Project Team, Section, or Division. Prepare and deliver communications including presentations and recommendations to others in the Section/Division and/or to external stakeholders. Some travel may be required.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform quantitative and/or qualitative analysis in support of FRB mission, Division goals, and Section objectivesAssist senior staff by providing support, information or analysisPrepare and deliver clear, accurate and concise communication orally and in writingShare information and ideas regarding projects and work for Section/Project TeamsPerform assigned project tasksSupport Section or Division in areas of expertiseBegin to develop areas of expertiseData Analysis: Supports in producing charts, graphs, and other visuals to help analyze data; helps identify relevant issues, trends and draw conclusions through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data; helps identify data that can be used to analyze policyExamination and Supervision: Participate in and/or lead examinations and/or reviews; support and implement supervision and/or oversight policies and programsFinancial Analysis: Supports in performing analysis of financial, regulatory, and compliance data and information in support of Division/Section's area of responsibility; clearly present analysis of financial, regulatory, and compliance data; helps identify relevant issues and trendsPolicy: Helps to interpret and/or implement policy, regulation, and/or guidance; participate in drafting policy recommendations supported by logical reasoning and sound analysisRisk Management: Helps to identify and analyze emerging risks in financial institutions and markets; apply appropriate risk management frameworks and policiesConsumer and Community Affairs (DCCA): Perform analyses related to consumer-focused supervision, research, and policy analysis; prepare memoranda to keep the Board, Division Management, and the System informed on developing trends and issues in consumer protection and community developmentMonetary Affairs (MA): Conduct duties while working with counterparts to execute the Division’s responsibilities pertaining to monetary policy implementation and analysis of financial institutions and marketsReserve Bank Operations and Payment Systems (RBOPS): Identify options, assess trade-offs, and develop consensus related to projects involving Federal Reserve Banks’ policies and operationsSupervision and Regulation (S&R): Perform analyses related to banking supervisory or regulatory activities; prepare memoranda to keep the Board, Division Management, and the Division Oversight Committee informed on developing trendsPosition RequirementsFR-23:

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 1 year of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field.FR-24:

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience.Must know the terminology associated with these competencies and be capable of applying these competencies under supervision:Data Collection & Analysis:

The ability to interpret and apply law and regulations related to areas of responsibility; evaluate the impact of changes in law and/or regulationsAbout The Team : The Analytics team is part of the Federal Reserve's Novel Activities Supervision Program, focusing on novel activities related to crypto-assets and technology-driven partnerships with non-banks.About The Role : The Analytics team member will actively monitor and report on developments in the fintech and crypto-asset sectors, and study the risk those developments may pose to banks and to the broader financial system.A Successful Candidate Will HaveDemonstrated experience in data and financial analysis, including programming skills (e.g., R, Python, Stata).Ability to write and communicate clearly, recognize and convey strong evidence and support for ideas, and structure effective presentations.Knowledge of crypto-related and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) activities, products, and businesses.Knowledge of quantitative financial risk management and regulation related to crypto-related and Banking-as-a-Service activities is desirable.NotesThis position is located in Washington DC.
