Cyber Network Data Engineer
in Herndon, VA. The Data Engineer is responsible for making data available, accessible, and secure to all stakeholders. As a Data Engineer on our team, you will design, build, and optimize systems for data collection, storage, access, and analytics at enterprise scale.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create robust and resilient data pipelines to connect data sources to analytics toolsWork with various analysts to craft requirementsEnumerate the necessary datasets and design the data model and schemas to support the requirementsProvide platform support, including problem solving and debugging, for production issuesInteract and collaborate across the services and communities involved in multi-domain Cyber Defense to achieve breakthrough improvements in capabilitiesRequired qualifications:
5+ years of experience with data engineering in an enterprise-scale environmentExperience working with various file formats such as JSON, XML or similarExperience working with analytic platforms such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana or similarKnowledge of AWS cloud services and tools, such as Lambdas, EC2s and S3Knowledge of the data ETL pipeline, including data retrievalExperience with programming, coding, or scriptingActive/Current TS/SCI with polygraph clearancePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in technical field of study such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or similar fieldExperience writing code or scripts in PythonExperience with relational and non-relational databasesExperience briefing other stakeholders on your findings and recommendationsKnowledge of data extraction, transformation, normalization, enrichment, correlation, storage, and API development and integrationAbility to demonstrate effective research, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to demonstrate effective organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to collaborate with others who are conducting research in the same, similar, or different areasClearance Requirements:
Active/Current TS/SCI with polygraphPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printerThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license. The applicant will be required to answer certain questions for export control purposes, and that information will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law.
