ScheduleThis is a hybrid position that will require going into the Minneapolis MACC Office at least one day each week.

A Typical Day in the Life…A typical day as MACC’s Accounts Payable Accountant provides an opportunity to serve on a team of accountants and support full financial services for a select group of member organizations, reporting directly to a Controller. Specifically, the role includes significant work in accounts payable and in general account reconciliation. Responsibilities will include the following:Receiving and processing invoices from members, reviewing account coding for accuracy, and communicating with members on suggested changes.Processing invoices in Continia software.Preparing suggested vendor payment list each week in conjunction with Controller review.Preparing checks, routing to appropriate signers, obtaining proper approvals, and mailing to vendors.Processing credit card expenses in Continia software.Reconciling accounts payable and credit card accounts payable.Reviewing AP aging and following up on any discrepancies.Obtaining completed IRS Form W-9 from all new payees.Preparing IRS Forms 1099 annually and as required and correcting any information discrepancies occurring after 1099 submission.

Who You AreYou preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or you have demonstrably equivalent knowledge gained through alternative courses of study and life experience.You have a minimum of two years of work experience in accounting.It is preferable that you have knowledge of the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting is also preferred.You are highly detail oriented.You demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.It is preferable that you are proficient with Microsoft Business Central or similar accounting applications.It is preferable that you have experience with Continia Expense Management or similar applications.You have a demonstrated ability to provide positive customer service to members/clients.You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet MACC’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was

not

issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
