Waterford, CT (Regional Office) - Cust. installationsHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The VP of Sales will manage the regional Safety, Construction, Advanced Fab, Strategic Accounts, and Automation sales teams in consultation with both National and Regional Company management team members. As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, the Vice President of Sales will partner with the Region’s Area Vice Presidents and District Managers to ensure the successful development and implementation of the annual Safety, Construction, Advanced Fab, Strategic Accounts, and Digital Business Plan and its successful execution. This position is also responsible for tactically developing and implementing sales strategies/campaigns focused on the growth of sales, product training, and promotional activities, and will coordinate the execution of such through the appropriate regional managers. The VP of Sales will prepare sales reports, perform account reviews and accounts receivable performance, maintain and educate direct reports on Airgas policies and procedures, all while ensuring superior customer satisfaction through value-added team selling and personal leadership.Lead, supervise, manage, motivate, and train the Sales Specialists and Strategic Account Managers to achieve the highest sales performance, enhance their productivity, and ensure adherence to all applicable safety standards.Engage in the development of the Region’s short and long-term safety, construction, advanced fab, and strategic accounts sales plans in conjunction with the AVP areas to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the Region.Analyze the effectiveness of Safety, Construction, Advanced Fab, and Strategic Accounts sales, sales methodologies, costs, and results, and recommend changes as appropriate.Develop and coordinate various training and promotional activities in order to achieve sales forecasts and P&L targets including revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA for product area(s) managed.Build relationships with external hardgoods vendors and identify ways to increase sales with the tier 1 and 2 vendors as noted in the Airgas Brand Strategy playbook while working with the vendors to add value to the areas through promotions, training, or additional sales opportunities.Identify, negotiate, and execute key strategic business, partnership, and alliance opportunities.Assure compliance with all regulatory requirements associated with Safety, Construction, and Advanced Fab sales within the Region while collaborating with the Operations and Safety teams.Administer Corporate and regulatory policies and business strategies as they relate to Safety, Medical, Advanced Fab, and Specialty Gas Product sales.Maintain awareness of market trends and anticipate possible business opportunities and threats.Direct the development of sales and operational initiatives to drive business expansion in assigned areas.Partner with regional AVP’s and District Managers assure all appropriate sales associates are trained in and follow all procedures related to the sale of Safety, Construction, and Advanced Fab to our customers.Ensure changes to procedures are reviewed, approved, and validated prior to implementation.Must have the ability to manage by influence as this job does not have direct P&L responsibility but is responsible for helping the P&L managers achieve their targets including that of the entire region.Maintain a work environment characterized by mutual respect that is void of unlawful discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Undergraduate Business, Engineering, Marketing or related degree required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional relevant experience may be accepted.Minimum of 10 years of increasing leadership responsibility in sales, marketing or operations.Experience in developing business strategies & developing/managing annual operating plans.Experience developing complex sales programs, analyzing markets and cultivating strategic relationships.A track record of achieving profitable sales growth and managing the dynamics of change is required.Strategic thinker with the imagination & foresight to conceptualize new ideas and opportunities as well as the tactical skills to implement.Demonstrated compliance with applicable federal/state regulations.Versatility to function effectively in a fast paced and changing business environment.Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations; demonstrating tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers; and handling proprietary information.Excellent leadership, motivational and project management skills.Financial acumen for developing and articulating metrics utilized by business professionals when developing budgets & plans, considering capital equipment purchases, and developing pricing guidelines. Strong understanding of contracts, contractual language and legal terminology.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others, collaborate and to create cross-functional alignment.Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.Must be proficient with Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Your differences enhance our performance
