Software Engineer

for Leica Biosystems will be located in Vista, CA, is hybrid, and will report to a Senior Manager, Software Development. This Software Engineer is responsible for helping perform maintenance and make modifications on existing and new software products.In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

Help perform maintenance and make modifications on existing software products, assist in coding, testing, and debugging new software, and write programs according to specifications and technical standards from higher level staff.Develop and maintain development (Dev) and operations (Ops) pipelines.Update and maintain existing documentation.Execute and follow through on clearly established task definitions and prioritize based on standard work procedures and broad business needs.Participate in reviews and provide constructive feedback that drives product quality.Actively research and apply industry best practices for software development.The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

Bachelor's in (completed or in progress) in computer science, software engineering, or similar.0-2+ years overall work experience (including internships) with full stack software product development, workflow management and/or automation.Experience and/or exposure to some of the following:Programming script languages like Python, PHP, TypeScript, C/C++, C, ASP.Net, Java.Web Development technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.Database Systems like MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis.Understanding of Agile methodologies and principles. Preferably Scrum/Kanban.Willingness to learn to write requirements, documentation, and design specifications.At Leica Biosystems we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
