Position
Our Roads & Highways Sector is seeking a Civil Engineer (Engineer - Water Resources) to join our team in any of our southern CA offices located in the San Diego (preferred), Irvine, Ontario, or Los Angeles offices.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation of planning studies and creation of design plans for a variety of project types.Typical projects include drainage studies and plans for roadway drainage systems, storm drain systems, bridge hydraulics, and stormwater quality projects.Perform preliminary field investigations and existing data research to be used in preparation of a working project base file.Calculate quantities and prepare engineering estimates.Prepare drainage specifications.Prepare water resources technical reports, letters, and memos for development of projects, such as Drainage Reports, SWDR, WQMP, SWQMP, etc.Assure that all submittals are in accordance with company production and design standards.Other assignments as needed.
Qualifications
5 + years of professional experience required with storm water and drainage design.Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with emphasis in hydrology or hydraulics is required.Master’s Degree in associated field is a plus.Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) certification required.Current CA Professional Engineer license OR the ability to obtain CA licensure within 6 months of hire is required.Experience with Caltrans and Southern California municipal agencies is desirable.Experience using drafting software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D) required and drainage design software (e.g., StormCAD) desired.Experience with stormwater NPDES permit compliance for Caltrans and California Phase I/II MS4 permits, and the California Construction General Permit is desired.Floodplain modeling and permitting experience is desired.Familiarity with the following additional software is also desired: ESRI ArcGIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, PondPack, AES, WSPGW, EPA SWMM, and SDHM.High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.Candidates must be strong communicators, well-organized, and proficient at technical writing.Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
Compensation
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range for this position: $79,700 - $119,500 annually.
