Hematology/Oncology – Medical Director
Seeking an experienced BC Hematology/Oncology Medical Director to lead its growing team of medical oncologists/hematologists and advanced practice providers in Eastern Tennessee in the Knoxville area.
About this Position:
The Medical Director will be responsible for the overall clinical oversight for the group and medical oncology program in collaboration with the leadership team. This will include identifying, setting, and measuring group/program goals, ensuring patient safety and quality of care, meeting patient experience targets, management of physicians and advanced practice providers, support for clinical research development, serving as group/program clinical liaison internally and externally, and program development. The Medical Director will enjoy a competitive salary with a generous sign-on bonus, RVU bonus potential, an excellent benefits package including generous CME allowance, paid malpractice insurance, and flexible relocation assistance.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
Previous effective provider leadership experience
Tennessee Medical License-eligible
About The Oncology Group:
The group currently is made up of 25 Providers (10 Medical Oncologists/Hematologists, 3 GYN Oncologists, and 12 Advanced Practice Providers) covering eight locations with over 50,000 patient visits annually. The Health System includes nine acute care hospitals, and more than 5,000 cancer cases are diagnosed annually within the health system.

The Cancer Survival Center has a legacy of providing high quality cancer care in East Tennessee and its six comprehensive cancer center locations serve as the regional hub for cancer care in the area. It offers some of the area’s most advanced cancer diagnostic services and treatments, including advanced PET imaging exams, breast tomosynthesis, Gamma Knife Icon, nine state-of-the-art linear accelerators, and a robust clinical research program. The physicians are supported by a team of nurse navigators, dietitians, genetic counselors, clinical trials specialists, physicists, pharmacists, therapists, technologists, oncology nurses, social workers, and counselors providing comprehensive patient care.
