Job SummaryThe

Program Analyst

will work closely with A. Fernandez, MD, who is also the PI for the UCSF Latinx Center of Excellence (LCOE) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Fernandez's research is focused on diabetes and healthcare disparities with a specific focus on Latinx health and the impact of language barriers on patient care and health outcomes. The Program Analyst will assist Dr. Fernandez with the development of current research projects, particularly those related to health disparities and COVID-19. Tasks on these projects include literature reviews, IRB completion, research design, qualitative data analysis, quantitative data analysis, writing and publication of research findings, and assisting with writing new grant proposals for submissions. The Program Analyst will also participate in recruiting and provide guidance to one or two undergraduate summer research interns to assist in moving the research forward.

This position will be based primarily at the Division of General Internal Medicine's offices at ZSFG but may require occasional travel to other UCSF campuses and to donor organizations.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $94,200 (Annual Rate).

Department DescriptionThe UCSF Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) delivers innovative, comprehensive, and complex primary medical care to San Francisco's vulnerable patients; carries out highly impactful translational research focused on generating new knowledge to improve the health of vulnerable populations; engages in meaningful policy work focused on reducing health disparities and ensuring access to care; and trains the next generation of physician leaders and researchers in the care of vulnerable and underserved populations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

2 or more years of work experience in an academic research setting.

Working knowledge of research function.

Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design, and data security measures.

Working skills in analysis and consultation.

High level of knowledge using PowerPoint and other tools for creating presentations.

Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

High-level communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of faculty and trainees verbally and in writing.

Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Proven attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with submissions to Institutional Review Board such as UCSF Committee on Human Research.

Experience with Endnote.

Experience working on grants, including application and progress reports.
