MetaPhase Consulting is currently supporting a US Federal Agency to modernize a critical application by leveraging open-source technologies following agile principles. The cloud-based application includes middleware microservices, frontend user interfaces, and backend databases/APIs.MetaPhase Consulting is seeking a Cleared Python Developer with 4+ years of experience to join a cross-functional agile development team to deliver a custom cloud application in support of a critical federal program. The developer will contribute to development tasks and activities which will include creating user interfaces and API/web services. The solution is to be built in a cloud environment and will be integrated with multiple external systems. The developer will be responsible for collaborating within an agile team (requirements, designers, testers) and client stakeholders (product owner, end-users) to understand user stories and implement assigned user stories.Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience supporting custom software development effortsExperience with front-end frameworks such as DjangoAdept in core software development in PythonExperience with collaborative software development and CI/CD tools (e.g., Circle CI, AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git)Comfortable developing in a highly collaborative agile development environment (i.e., user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.)Solid communication skills and collaborative approach with clients, team members and partners.Active Secret Clearance Required – No ExceptionsEssential Responsibilities
Apply test-driven development principles to develop, enhance, and sustain medium to large complex applications in a cloud environmentCollaborate with customer product owners and cross-functional agile team to support working sessions and to evaluate, define, and prioritize requirements/features/user storiesContribute to technical research/analysis of user stories and participate in agile ceremonies including backlog grooming and sprint planningComplete assigned user stories by designing and developing new features/components or major enhancements to existing software while ensuring compliance with Cyber Security and Federal IT security standards (i.e., NIST) as well as Section 508 accessibility requirementsConduct unit testing and contribute to the set up of automated testing while collaborating with testers to address found issues/bugs, and support team with documentation required by the clientSupport demos and provide technical support to end-users for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and/or production issues.Work Location
Currently remote with occasional travel within the Washington, DC metro area or company HQ in Reston, VATravel
Occasional team meetings in Reston, VAEducation Level
4+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or IT related field; 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degreeClearance Level
